The Thrustmaster Heart controller gets a lot right.
Its pleasing black-and-white aesthetic divided by a strip of customizable LED lighting is a unique look.
But entry-level is more of a half-truth.
On the other hand, the Thrustmaster Heart doesnt do a whole lot to justify its price.
That being said, the things the Heart does well, it doesverywell.
Its purchasable at Thrustmasters own website, as well as Best Buy,AmazonUS, and Amazon UK.
kinda looks it currently is not available for purchase in Australia, though.
On the overall price spectrum, the Thrustmaster Heart finds itself in a pretty awkward spot.
Its not a premium product, but certainly not budget-friendly by any means.
Especially when you factor in the likes of theThrustmaster eSwap X2and its $169.99 / 169.99 sticker price.
In that regard, the Thrustmaster Heart provides decent value over its premium siblings.
That strip tapers off to the left about halfway up, giving the controllers aesthetic a stylish uneven split.
I dont particularly care for the Thrustmaster and H.E.A.R.T.
The controller is then accentuated with some lovely textured grips that offer a comfortable fit in your hands.
That said, the Heart is an extremely light controller, which lends it a hollow feel.
Otherwise, youre getting a fairly standardXbox Wireless Controller-esque layout with some key differences.
Flanking the Menu and Share buttons are two unique buttons.
One of these is a multifunction button used to switch profiles and adjust LED color and brightness.
The other is a mapping button used to assign the two rear remappable buttons.
The Thrustmaster Heart lacks any on-board trigger lock controls.
you might also set individual profiles here which you might swap between with that aforementioned profile button.
If youre looking for a controller with immensely precise stick movement, then the Thrustmaster Heart is it.
That same high level of quality applies to the mechanical buttons and satisfyingly tactile d-pad.
The latter is quite simple in its design, but extremely effective thanks to its clicky and speedy feedback.
Its a slight shame that the triggers are the weakest aspect of the performance package.
Theyre fully analog which isnt a problem in and of itself.
Its also a shame that theres no option for wireless connectivity with the Thrustmaster Heart.
Should you buy the Thrustmaster Heart controller?
Titles likeFortnite, Apex Legends,andPUBG Battlegroundsreally shine with the Heart because of this.
Even cheaper gamepads like the GameSir Tarantula Pro seriously excel in this regard.
Also consider… And its cheaper than the Thrustmaster Heart.
