We thought that was a cool way to end season one.

Juliette Nichols wearing a spacesuit and walking across an arid plain in Silo season 2

Siloseason 2 premieres on Apple TV Plus on Friday, November 15.

So theres a big mystery there.

No ones ever seen someone walk out of sight and that starts to spin up talk of rebellion.

It was a fun episode to write, he recalls.

Juliette sits down in a new silo in Silo season 2

Juliette Nichols was last seen outside Silo 18 in the season 1 finale.

There was other stuff in there and we just trimmed it back and trimmed it back.

I said toApple, the script is now 31 pages, are you okay with a 30-minute episode?

Then Frank Golan, who Ive worked with for 20 years, wrote episode number two.

Bernard Holland looking unhappy in Silo season 2

Benard Holland (Tim Robbins) will return inSiloseason 2.

We understand hes not just this mustache-twirling bad guy.

Bernard holds it for her.

Theres a little glint in his eye when she says something he doesnt know.

A shot of Common’s Robert Sims bathed in red light in Silo season 2

Robert Sims (Common) in episode 7 ofSiloseason 2.

And Ill say that it has a huge effect on his life.

Hes not just this monolithic antagonist.

And for Juliette, shes alone.

Solo peers through a viewfinder-shaped letter box in Silo season 2

Steve Zahn is part of the new cast inSiloseason 2.

But she does, but not a lot.

Michael Dinner kept texting me during filming to say, man, shes amazing, just watch her eyes.

She goes through the experiences she goes through.

Morten and I agreed right from the jump that theres something slightly melancholy about life in the silo.

And that frankly a Scandinavian approach to that would be good.

And Atli is Icelandic.

Then he wrote the main title theme and I thought hes perfect for this show.

He nailed it even better this time.

Michael and I went up to Glasgow to see Atli conducting the Scottish National Symphony.

Strings for an hour or two, then brass and percussion stuff, filling out the score.

It was fun to watch him work and hes just a great guy.

Juliette has no interest in being a hero.

Hes been incredibly supportive of changes weve made and was very much involved in the slight re-think and focus.

But what he really built was Juliette.

And shes a great character.

Juliette has no interest in being a hero.

Shes an engineer just trying to solve a problem and yet you know shes someone you want to watch.

Then you get Rebecca Ferguson and thats Juliette.

Theres hope in her because she just wont stop.

I love that attitude.

And thats one of the things season two is about.

This rebellion builds because of what she did, even though theyre pretty damn sure shes dead.

But they pick up the torch for Juliette and you start seeing graffiti popping up in the second episode.

So on we go.

Im very proud of the season and we think it ends well.
