The Garmin X310 is a fantastic dash cam.
It certainly isnt cheap, and theres an ongoing subscription fee if you want cloud storage.
It is priced at $399.99 / 349.99 / AU$679 and is available now.
Garmins fantastically simple windshield mount makes a welcome return for this generation of dash cam.
There are no such concerns with the Garmin X310.
But the default 4K option is probably what most buyers will stick with, and for good reason.
Previously an optional extra, Garmin now fits its dash cams with an integrated polarizing filter.
This is designed to reduce windshield reflections and on a sunny day we found it did a great job.
Using the X310 is as easy as ever.
You dont even have to create a Garmin account, if you dont want to.
On one occasion there wasnt even another vehicle passing by.
Lastly, Garmins voice control system works as well as ever.
Should you buy the Garmin Dash Cam X310?
Theres also an option for 1080p at 120 fps, if you prefer.
You need GPSIntegrated GPS means all your video recordings include your vehicles speed and location, using GPS coordinates.
These can act as crucial pieces of evidence if youre accused of causing a collision.
Youd like the option for expansionAlthough it works great on its own, the X310 can be improved.
Garmin sells a permanent power cable to fire up the parking mode.
It lacks a screen (and GPS) but is truly tiny.
You already have the Garmin 67WGarmins latest flagship, the 67W, is still a great dash cam.
The X310 adds 4K video and a polarizing lens, yet costs over 50 percent more.
If you have a 67W and it still works fine, the new model isnt worth upgrading to.
