Doros Hemma is a great entry-level video doorbell.
The camera also has night vision, so you could have a clear feed when someone visits at night.
However, there are a few drawbacks.
The Doro Hemma app is available for iOS and Android, and makes it easy to set up and operate your doorbell
The doorbell detects any movement.
Additionally, the lack of support for HomeKit, Apples smart home framework, is disappointing.
There’s also no monthly subscription fee to access its full features, unlike many other video doorbells.
The Doro Hemma can be attached to your doorframe with an adhesive strip if you don’t want to drill holes
The Doro Hemma isn’t available outside the UK at the time of writing.
Its white casing may clash with certain doors, but perhaps thats the point.
A couple of features stand out, safety-wise.
The bottom cover releases to reveal the USB-C charging port, but doesn’t detach completely so it can’t get lost
During testing the feed always displayed perfectly, whether I was using a Wi-Fi data pipe or mobile data.
The delay on the video feed was minimal - it was similar to having a chat through FaceTime orGoogleMeet.
However, I recommend switching off the motion detection feature.

If you don’t live in a detached house, consider deactivating it.
Should you buy the Doro Hemma Doorbell?
There’s no attachment either, so confirm a battery-powered smart doorbell is right for you.
There’s minimal delay on the video feed, which makes it easy to hold a conversation with visitors through the app when you’re away from home
Doro Hemma Doorbell not for you?
It broadly offers the same as the Pro, just without Bird’s Eye View and enhanced Audio+.
After a while, I turned it off once it was proven to be the case.
